DESCRIPTION:Buying photography isn’t as easy as it seems\, it is important to consider several things in buying art work. Even going through a gallery can be complicated\, what is a work worth? Who is the artist? Is it framed? Provenance? \nNow\, photography as art-form has become more popular and the opportunity to purchase work has increased with online galleries\, alternative places to purchase\, as well as self producing artists. For photography lovers and those trying to get into the market it is an opportune but confusing time. \nFor this event we welcome Megumi Matsuo\, director of VOICE GALLERY pfs/w\, Kyoto and Dai Nomoto\, director of the KOBE 819 GALLERY.  They will introduce the market\, aspects of industry\, and collecting\, deepening your understanding of the galleries role\, exhibitions\, including large events like KYOTOGRAPHIE and KG+.\n\n\nMegumi Matsuo\nFrom 1976 to 1980\, she studied dyeing at Kyoto City University of Arts. After being active as an artist\, she founded VOICE GALLERY in 1986. Since the 1990s she has been involved into various art and culturural programs organized by Kyoto City. She is also a board member of Kyoto Arts and Culture Foundation which is the administrative organization of Kyoto Art Center.\nIn 2010\, she started an art event Chokyoto and currently the director. The goal of the event is to make the best ground for artists in Kyoto and their activities through fairs and events.\n\nDaii Nomoto\nDirector of KOBE 819 GALLERY\n\nNakazawa Yuki\nBorn in 1980. Now living in Kyoto. Graduated from Photography Department of VISUAL ARTS OSAKA in 2002. He is director of gallery Main \, and he also has been active as an photography artist. He held some solo exhibition and participated in international photography fair.
