His Intolerable Beauty: Portraits of American Mass Consumption (2003–2005) focused on the detritus of consumer society; while his Running\nthe Numbers: An American Self-Portrait (2006) claimed worldwide attention for its pointed material visualizations of alarming but otherwise abstract statistics.
